Event Info
Wilderness Tours has been selected to host the 2015 ICF World Freestyle Canoe and Kayak Championships and has been asked by CKC to host Team Trials. In 2014 this will be a combined event including our annual Canada Cup and Canadian Team Trials. The event will be held on Garb for Canoe and Kayak; alternate will be Baby Face.
Important Dates
August 15 Free camping at Wilderness Tours starts for all competitors
August 22/23 Kitchissippi Music Festival (Sheep Dogs, Classified, Arkell's)
August 25 Registration closes at 11pm
August 29 Final chance to register; Mandatory meeting at WT at 8:45 pm ($50 late fee)
August 30 9 am – 5 pm All Classes run in one day
Registration
- Pre-registration is through reservations office and website.
- Registration Closes August 25th @ 11pm
- Competitors who have not pre-registered can do so on Friday, August 29th between 5pm and 10 pm at reception, $50 late fee applies
- T-shirts and bibs will be handed out at registration on Friday, August 29th. A $40 deposit will be required for the bibs.
Orientation and Competitor Meeting
Orientation will happen in the Wilderness Tours amphitheatre at 8:45 pm Friday. The competitor t-shirts and bibs will be handed out then along with a full schedule of events Friday Evening. Anyone with specific questions regarding the competition should save them until that time.
Schedule and Meals Times
Saturday:
Breakfast: Rafters at 7 am for competitors that stayed overnight
Event Start – 9am sharp
Lunch: Lorne Lunch site from 11:30am – 2:00 pm
Dinner: Rafters from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Awards Ceremony @ Rafter’s 7:30 pm
BBQ Lunch will be sold to spectators at the Lorne Lunch site by lunch staff. There will also be a staff member selling cold drinks and snacks up on the rocks at the Garberator.

K1SM: 5 spaces
K1SW: 3 spaces
K1JM: 3 spaces
K1JW: 2 spaces
C1M: 3 spaces
OC1: 2 spaces
Parking
Will be available at Whitewater Brewery. NO VEHICLES AT ALL WILL BE ALLOWED DOWN THE LORNE ROAD FOLLOW PARKING SIGNS to the parking lot. A shuttle will be provided from the WW Brewery to the event site.
Spectators
Are welcome, they should be made aware that there is a walking trail along the river’s edge from the WT lunch site at the Lorne up to the Garberator wave. There are washrooms at the WT lunch site also.
Entertainment
Entertainment party will take place at Rafters on both Saturday and with DJ’s in Rafters amphitheater beginning at 10 pm.
Awards Ceremony
Will take place at evening of finals with dinner at Rafter’s Restaurant beginning at 6pm and the awards at approximately 7:30 pm.
